The Watcher in the Woods remake

The Watcher in the Woods remake is an homage photograph to what I think is an excellent children’s  horror movie. The story behind this was a photo competition with theme of Movie Title. I got my daughters to dress up, didn’t have to ask twice, and come along into the woods behind our house. I found a spot with some great natural light falling in between the trees. And the result is here…

The Setup

A tripod was setup in front of my children with a Nikon SB900 speed light on top pointing towards the camera. On my Nikon D7000 I used the build-in flash in commander mode to trigger the opposite flash remotely. Then I dialled down the exposure to get a better mood effect. And voila, a reasonably good attempt to create the atmosphere of the watcher in the woods.
