talkphotography mega meet 2015

By on 7 June, 2015 in News, Photography

Another year another mega talkphotography mega meet. This is the second time I’ve attended the talkphotography mega meet. It is a great event, organised by www.talkphotography.co.uk and it takes place in Whipsnade, Bedfordshire, United Kingdom. This year there were a good number of sessions cover couples, dogs, poses, birds of prey. In addition there were a fair few exhibits and some excellent catering. talkphotography mega meet 2015 photos Below is a selection of the photos that I took on the day. I’ve also had my film cameras with me, but those photos will have to wait until it is developed.   talkphotography.co.uk mega meet 2015 talkphotography.co.uk mega meet 2015 – Couple posing session talkphotography.co.uk mega meet 2015 – Couple posing session, dealing with height difference. talkphotography.co.uk mega meet 2015 – Couple posing session...

Whipsnade Wild Animal Park TP Nutters Meet

By on 18 January, 2015 in Photography

Yesterday was a cold, snowy morning in January and the annual talkphotography nutters meet at whipsnade wild animal park was held. Many sacrifices were made to the weather Gods in hope for the nuttiest weather. Unfortunately whilst it was snowing, the weather turned, and it became a beautiful dry and sunny winters day. Never the less it was a nice event, and the animals were ready to entertain. Whipsnade Wild Animal Park Photos Photographic equipment Whilst the weather was wet, snowy, and very cold at whipsnade wild animal park, my trusted Billingham Hadley Pro kept my cameras dry, provided plenty of space for both and was comfortable to carry. talkphotography megga meet 2014

By on 21 May, 2014 in Photography

Last weekend the talkphotography megga meet 2014 was held at my village hall. It would have been rude not to attend, say hello to a few people, and join a few sessions. And I’m glad I did, they were a great bunch of people, some very interesting talks, I’ve done something new that I’ve never done before. Dog photography session My main interest was the dog session, they were two-fold. First portrait photography, followed a bit later in the day by some action shots. These are my picks. Bird of prey photography session The next session was about birds of prey. I love how the sulking bird was hanging its head. Model photography session And then finished off with a model shoot. This was new to me, I’ve never done anything like this before. Whilst there were the opportunities indoors with studio lights and backgrounds, the weather was so nice, the light was great,...

Steve Backshall Deadly Aerial Assassins

By on 7 May, 2014 in Photography

Steve Backshall presents Deadly Aerial Assassins at Whipsnade Wild Animal Park. Steve Backshall is the popular presenter from Deadly 60 and other shows on BBC Television. The Zoological Society of London together with BBC Events organised this amazing show during the May bank holiday weekend at Whipsnade Zoo. Since I live within walking distance it would have been rude not to pay a visit and try out my new Olympus 75-300mm lens. Steve Backshall Gallery As usual, just click the image to see it larger and the EXIF information. The Technical Bits As I knew this was one, and the longest reach that I had for my use, was my Panasonic 35-100mm I thought it was a good opportunity to expand on my lenses. I found it hard to decide whether to go for the Panasonic 100-300 or the Olympus 75-300. In the end I went with the Olympus 75-300 from Amazon UK as it was cheaper, provided a bit of extra...

Lions at Whipsnade Wild Animal Park have always been a big feature. One Sunday this week, my family and I went for a nice walk around the animal park. The light was beautiful and the weather nice and crisp. Whipsnade Wild Animal park is part of the Zoological Society London and is set on top of the eastern part of the Chilterns in the United Kingdom just north of London. I can highly recommend a visit. Whipsnade Wild Animal Park Street Photography

By on 11 August, 2013 in Photography

Street at Whipsnade Wild Animal Park is the nearest to my home where I can satisfy my favourite of all photography styles. I really enjoy street photography and getting up-close-and-personal. It is even better when there is interaction when taking the photo and one of this set definitely captures that moment. The little Olympus PEN E-P5 with 17mm lens is close to perfect for this style in my opinion. It is unintrusive  and doesn’t scare anyone away, in fact it gets people talking.     Whipsnade Wild Animal Park Anyway, here is a small set from Whipsnade Wild Animal Park. Whipsnade Wild Animal Park is part of the Zoological Society of London and is a great place right on top of the eastern part of the Chilterns in Bedfordshire, United Kingdom.
