By on 29 April, 2015 in News, Photography

These are my unofficial photos, my snapshots, of  Andrew and Jen’s wedding. It was a wonderful weekend at the Langdale Chase Hotel in Windermere. Please note that none of the photos are edited nor processed, they are just snapshots straight out of the camera. I will publish my selected photos soon. In order to see the photos full size, please do click on a photo and a carousel will display. Within it will also show the EXIF information for those interested. More importantly it will allow for a download of the full original version.     Paparazzi shots I was on the balcony of our room with my wife and notice the official photographer taking Andrew and Jen out onto the jetty for some shots in the ‘Golden Hour’. I quickly popped on my Olympus Zuiko 75-300mm lens and snapped away.   Andrew and Jen wedding And here are some further snaps taken during the...

Whipsnade Wild Animal Park TP Nutters Meet

By on 18 January, 2015 in Photography

Yesterday was a cold, snowy morning in January and the annual talkphotography nutters meet at whipsnade wild animal park was held. Many sacrifices were made to the weather Gods in hope for the nuttiest weather. Unfortunately whilst it was snowing, the weather turned, and it became a beautiful dry and sunny winters day. Never the less it was a nice event, and the animals were ready to entertain. talkphotography megga meet 2014

By on 21 May, 2014 in Photography

Last weekend the talkphotography megga meet 2014 was held at my village hall. It would have been rude not to attend, say hello to a few people, and join a few sessions. And I’m glad I did, they were a great bunch of people, some very interesting talks, I’ve done something new that I’ve never done before. Dog photography session My main interest was the dog session, they were two-fold. First portrait photography, followed a bit later in the day by some action shots. These are my picks. Bird of prey photography session The next session was about birds of prey. I love how the sulking bird was hanging its head. Model photography session And then finished off with a model shoot. This was new to me, I’ve never done anything like this before. Whilst there were the opportunities indoors with studio lights and backgrounds, the weather was so nice, the light was great,...

Steve Backshall Deadly Aerial Assassins

By on 7 May, 2014 in Photography

Steve Backshall presents Deadly Aerial Assassins at Whipsnade Wild Animal Park. Steve Backshall is the popular presenter from Deadly 60 and other shows on BBC Television. The Zoological Society of London together with BBC Events organised this amazing show during the May bank holiday weekend at Whipsnade Zoo. Since I live within walking distance it would have been rude not to pay a visit and try out my new Olympus 75-300mm lens. Steve Backshall Gallery As usual, just click the image to see it larger and the EXIF information. The Technical Bits As I knew this was one, and the longest reach that I had for my use, was my Panasonic 35-100mm I thought it was a good opportunity to expand on my lenses. I found it hard to decide whether to go for the Panasonic 100-300 or the Olympus 75-300. In the end I went with the Olympus 75-300 from Amazon UK as it was cheaper, provided a bit of extra...
